Ms. Wu specializes in financial crime investigations, asset tracing, and litigation support for law firms, government agencies, and business owners. With deep experience in anti-money-laundering compliance, economic damages, and regulatory enforcement, she delivers clear, defensible analysis grounded in data and investigative rigor.
Elissa previously served as a Senior Forensic Accountant in Deloitte’s Government and Public Services practice, where she led investigations on behalf of federal agencies including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and IRS–Criminal Investigations. Her work uncovered billions in illicit funds through transaction tracing, risk-based analysis, and asset identification. She played a key role in cases involving cryptocurrency fraud, international money laundering, and aviation-related corruption, presenting findings to U.S. Attorneys and supporting successful prosecutions.
Earlier in her career, Elissa worked as a Forensic Accountant at C2G International LLC, a Socotec company, where she focused on construction claims, commercial disputes, and expert witness financial modeling. She collaborated with engineers and attorneys to develop cost-benefit models, quantify lost profits, and assess damages in complex business litigation, helping secure favorable outcomes in multi-million-dollar disputes.
Elissa began her professional journey at Sidley Austin LLP and Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, supporting corporate litigation and real estate teams. She holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Global Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
In addition to her forensic work, Elissa is an active real estate investor and tax strategist. Her firsthand experience with property management and investment planning deepens her ability to advise clients on sustainable, practical tax strategies grounded in financial reality. She approaches every engagement with a forensic eye, combining precision, transparency, and long-term perspective.
Originally from Los Angeles, Elissa now resides in Seattle and works with clients nationwide. Outside of her professional practice, she enjoys investing, teaching College level accounting, and exploring local art and culture. She values community, continuous learning, and the art of finding beauty in both numbers and design.
Summit Forensics was founded to connect investigative accounting with legal strategy and to provide clarity when financial truth matters most.
